Karen McCann is the Co-Founder of the Digital Wisdom Institute. She has had a distinguished career in the IT industry including management positions in sales, operations, and advanced software development. She is an active member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council Innovations Committee where she has lead events and served as a speaker on a variety of leading edge topics. Ms. McCann has degrees from the University of Virginia in Mathematics & Computer Science and from George Washington University in Project Management. She has performed graduate work in AI at Johns Hopkins University Graduate School. Ms. McCann is also the founder of High-Tech Women, a professional women’s networking organization in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is her vision that Digital Wisdom be instrumental in the development and advancement of artificial intelligence technology as this field grows in its importance in our political and societal landscape
Mark Waser has over 30 years of experience in software systems design & development and artificial intelligence. He has developed systems ranging from an expert system shell and builder for CitiCorp’s FastFinance lease evaluation and approval system to a neural network evaluating thallium cardiac images of Air Force pilots for Wright-Patterson AFB to numerous natural language processing and information extraction programs. Mr. Waser has an M.S.E. degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Pennsylvania and has performed doctoral studies in Machine Learning & Human Decision Making at George Mason University. He is particularly interested in safe ethical architectures and motivational systems for intelligent machines.
